The web turns 25: Life before vs life after



Today marks 25 years since Sir Tim Berners-Lee first formally proposed the idea of the World Wide Web.

And boy did it change our lives. I say changed, it basically took over.

Some of us can hardly remember a time in our adult lives without the web and the internet and it’s difficult to think back to how we used to go about daily tasks without it.

To commemorate such a momentous moment in modern life we look at 11 ways it changed our lives.

1. Maps

Before: ‘Has anyone seen the A-Z London? I need to get to Camden right now! Where is the A-Z London?! Where is Camden in this stupid thing? Aaaah’

After: Just use Google Maps to find out where you need to go, how long it will take you and what’s the quickest way. Simple.
